The Hero of Two Worlds, as he was called, stayed in San Marino for less than one day yet he made a very significant symbolic gesture right in the Old Land of Freedom. Garibaldi was granted the honorary citizenship and kept friendly relationships with the San Marino’s authorities who hosted and nourished him, Anita and his soldiers in 1849. We will visit the most important places of Garibaldi’s actions in San Marino and tell the main steps of a short yet crucial moment in our history.
